The beginning of the garden...til this morning...

I think gardening can be one of the most rewarding hobbies in life. It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun to see things come to life...
with all these yellow flowers on my cucumbers, squash and tomatoes
and the white flowers on the peppers and the flowers that haven't quite bloomed on the eggplant, I'm hoping for a very yummy summer!!!

I just bought some tomato cages to use on the cucumbers...
they need something to hang on to, and they were moving towards the squash!
Let's hope that tames them a bit...I just saw some baby cucs starting to show up!!!

an overall picture...the squash are huge...I had to move one of my sweet bells...I soaked her yesterday, so I think she'll survive the move...the tomatoes are growing nicely too...can't wait to see some red and yellow!

More cherries on this tomato bush...I think it has about 15 now!

Flowers started to bud on the eggplant below...

the squash below is about 3 weeks ago, the squash above was photographed this morning!

after a couple weeks, things begin to progress...

the first week of planting...everything looks so small

we're back!!!

I'm so glad I didn't lose my blog forever....I didn't want to start a new one in hopes that this one would be saved. It ended up that when Cristian changed this computer from XP to Vista it messed up the cookies and gadgets and all those other computer words and left me with an error message for weeks.

I have much to post. I will go take pictures of the garden and get them on here as soon as possible...there's also our first trip to the zoo and Mother's Day. See you soon!

It's already the middle of March!

Adrian is quite the little ham. He loves to pose for a picture...
and this is his latest posing face...I call it the squinty smile...
so squinty his teeth look crooked!

My sweet Adrian is sooo big! He comes up to my waste!
His hair is growing in rather curly still and more and more
like the color of my brother's hair...
I think Cristian's was lighter when he was little too,
but at least I know he got my curls.

Adrian's favorite things are choo choos...
he loves to see them and tell me that he has seen one!
He loves to play with his cars...or as he says caaaas,
and I think more than anything, he LOVES to climb his Ludee and Papa's stairs.
One of us still follows close behind him,
but the other night Cristian caught him half way up the staircase.
He is just so fast.
I'm sure my Ludee has some pictures on her blog of Adrian on her staircase.

Baby Gifts

My mom made blocks for Adrian for his first Christmas
and I thought they were so sweet.
I am on the baby shower committee
for our church. We host a shower for first time moms...
and at our church we usually have more than one mom per shower.
The last one had 3 new mommies and our shower
in May-June will have 5 new mommies.

It is a great ministry and a blessing to share
a special time of prayer and thanksgiving
with these women in our church. Gifts are optional,
but I thought it would be fun
to make something for these mommies and their little ones.
Two of the girls had names they were sharing
and one of the girls is keeping hers a secret til the birth,
so for her I came up with something else...here are my projects.

I can't believe how SMALL he was!!!

Baby door knocker
shhh....

Ethan Mateo...front and back...

My growing boy's got curls!

When I look back at Adrian's baby pictures...more like his 9 month pictures,he seemed quite bald! All of a sudden in the last couple of months,a LOT of hair has grown in...and it's so curly...especially in this humid Texas weather...I've actually cut Adrian's hair once already...when he started getting knots in the back from his restless sleeping habits. We'll see what this baby boy looks like in the next few months...he seems to be losing his 'babyness' and gaining his little boy-ness.My sweet Adrian is quite the handful...frustrates himself so when he can't figure something out, climbs up on EVERYTHING and then screams for mommyto rescue him by getting him down!

A really good recipe

You just need a few simple ingredients and wow...
what a winner of a dessert or breakfast coffee cake! Because of the peaches,
it almost had a cobbler like consistency
and it was gone before everyone could grab a bite!

Here is the actual link to Paula's recipe, but as to my liking...I tweeked it a little...
I didn't have blueberries on hand, so I used frozen peaches
(not quite the whole bag, chopped) and dried cranberries.
At the end, I used the left over melted butter and mixed it with half the oats
and the cinnamon sugar and sprinkled that ontop before I baked it...It was YUM-O!!!!!!

This is the first layer of biscuits, the peaches, then oats,

then I layered more peaches and the cinnamon oat mixture last...

Merry Christmas from the Mozas

I'm a little late in posting this, but I'd say better late than never! It was our 2nd Christmas with Adrian and we all had so much fun watching him explore the presents, the ornaments and enjoy understanding so much more about the holidays! I hope y'all had a very Merry Christmas also!
