Shopping...the day after Christmas

We don't need anything, but it is tradition...just to go looking:) and thank goodness, the streets were not as crazy as the day after Thanksgiving.

Mommy and Adrian only hit a couple stores...didn't see much and didn't buy much...but we thought you would enjoy how cute Adrian looked for his post Christmas outing.

It was one of the colder days this week. We left the house a little after 9 am for a very leisurely shopping extravaganza...Ludee told me that Grandpa went out to Macy's at 6:30am!!!!

Christmas Time is here

Merry Christmas!!! from our family to yours.
We are so blessed this Christmas with great health and joy-filled hearts
because of the new addition to our family. Adrian might not remember his first Christmas
with us, but Cristian and I will never forget this year...
and how much we love him and love each new day with him.
He is a precious little boy who brings so much to our hearts and our family.
We pray God's peace and love reigns in your hearts.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

for my Romanian family and friends...
Ne rugam ca pacea si dragostea lui Domnul sa fie in inimi vostri
acum si intotdeanu.
Craciun Fericit si La Multi Ani!!!

Look at me! I love my high chair, I just don't like using a spoon...yet!!!

As many of you know, it doesn't snow much in San Antonio...so as you can see Cristian (Daddy) and Adrian went outside to look in the backyard and I got a few pictures of them...

Cristian is a morning person and still wakes up to play with Adrian between 5 and 7 am. What a precious time they had together Christmas morning.

Christmas Day

Baby's First Christmas

What memories we will have of his very first Christmas.

What a wonderful time of year...especially with our little Adrian. We spent Christmas Eve at our house with my parents and brother and then spent Christmas Day at my parent's house.

Adrian is just a week over 4 months old and is teething:( He was such a trooper for Christmas Eve, even though we were opening gifts during his bedtime!

My mom, Ludee, made Adrian his name in baby blocks. They are absolutely adorable. What a great surprise!

Since there's no snow outside, we have to be creative

This little boy was a little feverish after his immunizations yesterday, so we stayed inside and looked extra handsome for the camera. He was such a good boy with his shots. He cried a little at the doctor's office, but more because he was sleepy and we were all interrupting his nap time;)
We got in the car and he was asleep before I hit the highway!
He definitely got his rest, because even though he was a little feverish, he still wanted to get up and play today!

Four months old...I get to use a spoon!!!

Adrian had his four month old check up today and everything was perfect.
He was given the okay to eat rice cereal.
Once he masters the art of eating with a spoon,
he will be on to eating sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, peas and more!!!

I didn't say he loved every minute of it!!!
This spoon thing takes a little getting used to!!!

We are so blessed with our little boy...
who is now 16 pounds, 6 ounces and 24 1/2 inches long!!!
He is the joy of our life and
we could not have asked for a better Christmas present than our little Adrian Florin.

Got rice cereal?

Christmas Picture Portfolio

I guess this is what happens when you try to take pictures for Christmas cards...a hundred cute try-outs...some silly, some serious, some just right...

I can't imagine anything more enjoyable than watching my baby grow, develop his amazing personality, and smile with him every step of the way.

Enjoy our Christmas try-outs:) a personal letter will be coming your way very soon...

Three months already!!!

Wow...it is amazing to watch any baby grow, but I think I am in total amazement because Adrian is our first. Adrian was 3 months old on November 14th! We put him in his 3-6 month clothes which are a little big still but it's fun to try on all the cute outfits we received!!!

I love my borrowed bouncy seat. It is one of my favorite spots in the house!!!

I love to kick my legs around whenever I play with my toys!!!

Mommy bought me this train the weekend after she found out I was a boy! She went to the King William Fair with Ludee and found this just for me! I know I'll love playing with it as soon as I can get my hands on it!!!

Thanksgiving visitors

It's the last day of November, so I need to get my post in before we hit December! Adrian is growing so much and becoming more and more social. He loves to smile and laugh at just about anything! He also enjoys discovering new things...by putting them in his mouth!!

We have a fabulous visit from some friends who used to live in San Antonio, but now live in Amarillo. They gave Adrian his first teddy bear. I think he can see how much he has taken to this bear!

Happy Harvest...Happy Fall...Happy Anniversary...Happy Thanksgiving

Cristian and I are about to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! What better way to celebrate than with our baby boy and his first Thanksgiving!

Look at my big eyes!

I never knew my Mommy's Bama (great grandmother) but I like her quilted pillows behind my head. My Ludee had those made when the quilt started to fall apart.

Look, Ludee...don't I look like my Mommy's baby picture???

I love my quilt....it's sooooooo soft!!!!

Ludee's quilt

Ludee (Adrian's grandma) has made him three quilts. One is for his pack n play...you've seen it in his swaddling pictures. One is for his big boy bed...look at Adrian at 2 weeks and one is for playing. His playing quilt is made of all flannel and it is definitely a snuggly quilt...It has actually gotten cold in San Antonio and this quilt is the best for snuggling up to play, to eat, to get warm after a bath...As you can see Adrian loves his quilt as much as his Mommy does!!!

Best seat in the House

This is one of Adrian's favorite spots in the house... hanging on Mommy's shoulder...

or right in Mommy's lap...

either way Adrian has easy access too food, fun, and
whatever else Adrian can think of!

2 months...my how time flies!!!

At Adrian's 2 month doctor's appointment, he weighed in at 11 pounds, 5 ounces and he is now 23 inches long!!! He is right at the 50th percentile with all his measurements, but we all know he is anything, BUT average!!!

He had to get his first batch of shots. Mommy and Adrian both cried when the nurse pricked his leg, so we cuddled in bed all day long, except when Adrian was eating...then we sat in the big comfy chair. Later that afternoon, we both felt a little better and Adrian played under the mobile in his crib. Look at those big boy band-aids!!! What a cutie!!!

Swaddling 101

For all those moms out there who believe in swaddling...
I love it and MOST of the time so does Adrian,
but we all have our moments of stubbornness...
no matter how good something is for us,
we don't always want it...

Me and my little boy

Cristian and I decided that I would not go back to full time teaching after Adrian was born. I taught for 2 years in San Antonio, then 3 years in Romania, where I met my husband, and then after we got married and moved back to San Antonio, I taught for 4 more years. It was time for a change. My full time job now consists of everything Adrian. I spend just about every waking and sleeping hour with him and I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing!! He is growing so much. These pictures are from the day he was born, in and out of the womb and from every week since then. I can't believe how little he was and how big he is now. What a wonder. The day he was born, minutes after, I told my OB...I just don't understand how people can think this is NOT a miracle. What an amazing even childbirth is. It's just the beginning of a new gift you get to unwrap every single day. Every day there is something new, something exciting, something changing...and every day there is nothing that should be taken for granted. What a privilege I have to spend every moment with him...how blessed am I!!!

There are few things I love better in life right now that hanging out with my little boy. We play, we laugh, we eat, we sleep, we dance, we sing, we read...what else can there be? Adrian is a joy! A precious gift that only God could give me. Laughing or crying, eating or sleeping, playing or sitting quietly, he is my little boy and I cherish every moment I get to spend with him.

Our family at seven and a half weeks...

We are so blessed with our new addition to our family. We've taken hundreds of photos of Adrian, but are now just about ready to show off the whole family. We went out to a restaurant today. Mommy's first time out to eat in seven and a half weeks!!! Adrian did really well. He was a little sleepy, so we got the bottle out and he ate while Mommy and Daddy ate. He fell asleep in the car on the way home. I guess it was a good meal!

We tried to take some pictures today, but Adrian was getting sleepy and you know what that means...a little fussy, a little swaddling, a little rocking, a little shushing and we're off to dream...dream...dream...We'll take more pictures when we are all awake and on our best behavior.
