Adrian in Romania

Adrian enjoys exploring every noise that will come out of his mouth! Here is a video of him playing in Timisoara. He enjoys screaming, coughing, laughing, saying ah ba ba ba...and any other noise he can come up with at 9 months old!!

Timisoara, Romania

This is probably one of my most favorite places in the world. I spent three years here, met my husband and made many wonderful friends. We've been away for four years now and a lot has changed, but a lot has stayed the same. Romanian hospitality will always remain the way I remember. No matter what time it is, if you go to someone's house, they will welcome you in with a loving smile, a warm heart and something on the dinner table.

the desserts

I had to make a post just for desserts to honor the amazing handiwork of my mother in law. She could have her own show on Food Network easily. She can make anything out of anything. You can see from her garden that she has a lot of ingredients to choose from. We were blessed with homemade food, soups, and desserts for two full weeks. What a treat!!!

I had to take pictures of the entire cakes and each slice, so you too could appreciate the hard work! We had new pastries and cakes every few days, and there was never only one kind...our Sunday dinner had four kinds of cakes!

the garden in Giulvaz

Cristian's parents live in a village 17 miles away from Timisoara. They have a garden in their front yard, side yard and back yard. Almost everything we ate came from this garden. It's a lot of work!!

Our time in Giulvaz, Romania

We tried to spend a lot of our time in Giulvaz where Cristian's family could visit with their first grandchild. Adrian enjoyed playing with Buna Nuta (Grandma Nutza) and Babi (greatgrandma). They entertained him immensely with whatever they could. Cristian's grandmother Babi is 93 years old. She has seen a lot in her lifetime and we were thrilled that Adrian got to meet her!!
