Baby Gifts

My mom made blocks for Adrian for his first Christmas
and I thought they were so sweet.
I am on the baby shower committee
for our church. We host a shower for first time moms...
and at our church we usually have more than one mom per shower.
The last one had 3 new mommies and our shower
in May-June will have 5 new mommies.

It is a great ministry and a blessing to share
a special time of prayer and thanksgiving
with these women in our church. Gifts are optional,
but I thought it would be fun
to make something for these mommies and their little ones.
Two of the girls had names they were sharing
and one of the girls is keeping hers a secret til the birth,
so for her I came up with something else...here are my projects.

I can't believe how SMALL he was!!!

Baby door knocker

Ethan Mateo...front and back...

My growing boy's got curls!

When I look back at Adrian's baby pictures...more like his 9 month pictures,he seemed quite bald! All of a sudden in the last couple of months,a LOT of hair has grown in...and it's so curly...especially in this humid Texas weather...I've actually cut Adrian's hair once already...when he started getting knots in the back from his restless sleeping habits. We'll see what this baby boy looks like in the next few months...he seems to be losing his 'babyness' and gaining his little boy-ness.My sweet Adrian is quite the handful...frustrates himself so when he can't figure something out, climbs up on EVERYTHING and then screams for mommyto rescue him by getting him down!

A really good recipe

You just need a few simple ingredients and wow...
what a winner of a dessert or breakfast coffee cake! Because of the peaches,
it almost had a cobbler like consistency
and it was gone before everyone could grab a bite!

Here is the actual link to Paula's recipe, but as to my liking...I tweeked it a little...
I didn't have blueberries on hand, so I used frozen peaches
(not quite the whole bag, chopped) and dried cranberries.
At the end, I used the left over melted butter and mixed it with half the oats
and the cinnamon sugar and sprinkled that ontop before I baked it...It was YUM-O!!!!!!

This is the first layer of biscuits, the peaches, then oats,

then I layered more peaches and the cinnamon oat mixture last...
