Valentine's Dessert

I was so sick last week and really didn't feel like getting any pretty dishes out til last night. Busy taking care of myself and my two boys that were sick first...so this is just pretend. I have already put it all away and am getting ready for the Football Feast on Sunday!
I pulled out a quilt topper my mom made. Beautiful, right? She makes the quilt and then takes it to a lady a couple hours away and has her do the machine work. So so pretty!
I thought the reds still work well for Valentine's! The vase is from my mom's house also. I'm borrowing it. It just says Italy on the bottom. She has a bowl and candle holders in a similar pattern. I think they were my great grandmother's.
I used my Italian Countryside Dinner plates and topped them with Thomas of Bavaria dessert plates. zmu mom gave these to me a while ago, probably my great grandmother's also. I used my grandmother's silver and the red goblets my brother gave me for Christmas. Coffee and Dessert anyone?
My great grandmother, Mimmie, would have loved to sit and have dessert and coffee or tea with my mom and me. She told the best stories, taught me the best card games and was a beautiful lady. I think my mom is so much like her. No wonder she is one of my best friends!
 Short and sweet!

  1. I hope you feel better, Meredith. I know it isn't easy to be sick and take care of little ones. My niece has 4 and is undergoing chemo, a real challenge.
Love those red goblets, so pretty!
