My painted plate. This is my latest painting...I took two of my small plates with me to the shop and 'copied' the flowers and bird onto my plate. I painted the charger underneath last year. |
I layered Blue Danube luncheon plates in between my Indies Blue, so I used the Blue Danube tea cups and saucers. Hot tea, anyone? |

Teriyaki Chicken with Green Beans & Mushrooms & Egg rolls |

Egg rolls
egg roll wrapper
carrots & Cole slaw mix chopped in a food processor
onion flakes
soy sauce
ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper, garlic powder
Cook seasoned ground beef til browned in a little olive oil, add carrot and slaw mix. Cook til soft. Add onion and soy sauce. Put a spoonful of mixture in each wrap and wrap it up burrito style. Fry in Vegetable oil til golden brown on all sides.
Teriyaki Chicken with Green Beans and Mushrooms
In a HOT skillet, add little olive oil and brown chicken (season with salt and pepper). Add green beans, mushrooms, onion flakes, and teriyaki sauce. Cook until done.

ReplyDeleteDid you fire your plates after you painted them? Glazes or underglazes on greenware....or glass paint on an already glazed plate? You did a marvelous job! This table tempts me to do an Asian blue and white table...even though I'm allergic to oriental food...literally! I love it, but I've been hospitalized four times after trying to eat it. Finally gave it up...so sad. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design, and for stopping by my post. Cherry Kay

ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know about the firing on your plate. I am a clay artist, and I have a kiln sitting in my garage. You did a lovely job on your piece. The paints that you used are called glazes because they all ready have the glass in them that will make your plate shiny. You painted on a bisque piece. Bisque is clay that has been fired one time. I generally paint on greenware, dried clay that has not been fired, yet. When painting on greenware, one uses underglazes. Underglazes are the same paint minus the glass. After the first firing, a clear glaze, containing the glass, is applied and the plate is fired a second time. That second firing gives the plate the shiny glass/ceramic look. I hope that you'll continue to paint. Cherry Kay

ReplyDeleteOMG! What an amazing table full of the most beautiful blue and white plates...but YIKES!...I'm in total shock of the plates YOU DECORATED my friend!!! You're so talented, I know what that's like, it's not easy to decorate ceramics, it's a different technique as I worked for 30 years designing dinner ware in my hubby's Ceramic Fact., (he sold it and we retired)
