Riding the choo choo train at the San Antonio Zoo

Adrian asks for the choo choo every time we go to the Zoo or eat lunch at the park nearby with Daddy...it's right around the corner from Cristian's work, so we'll go pick him up and have a picnic every once in a while...
The train is free until Adrian is 3...which is in 6 weeks, so I thought we needed to go soon! I thought we were going to pack a lunch and go to the park and train, but both boys were rather sleepy at 11:30, so we waited til after nap time...and yes it was a lot hotter! but so worth it to see his face.
For whatever reason the city has not paid to improve the parking lot at the Zoo, so it is rather uneven and Adrian fell pretty badly on our walk in...his knee was bleeding, but we could tell it wasn't a cut...just a scrape and a little bruised, so he still wanted to go on the choo choo, but had Daddy carry him the rest of the way...
His expressions are endearing...I love his love for new discoveries. At one point on the ride we went through a tunnel. He wasn't quite sure what to make of it. It was dark, with just a glow from a few lights above. Everyone was screaming (as per the direction of the conductor) He was smiling with an inquisitive look of...is this fun or scary? We got out of the tunnel and he gave me the biggest grin...he kept telling Andrew...this is choo choo...this is choo choo!
All in all, it was really hot, but it was a great outing...ending with a little shade by the river...
