This morning, both boys woke up with runny noses, so I got out my bulb syringe and benedryl and took these pictures after they both fell asleep. One is still out on the couch while his little brother is watching a Cars DVD right next to him! Oh to sleep that soundly!
I'm using the same tablecloth, (1. to remind you that you could win two place mats from the same design HERE and 2. I can't find my fall tablecloth...it must have been packed with winter linens or something. I'll search before Thanksgiving!!)
I had this pedestal bowl, from my mom, that I used to give the centerpiece a little lift. It's usually on top of our armoire that holds all my linens and the boys' toys!
This is the glass I used to toast our wedding. Sadly the second one broke when I was washing it that same night! Didn't last long, but sure is pretty. |
I used kitchen towels as napkins. I just bought these from HomeGoods and I love the crisp clean look. The brown check plays off the dark brown rattan chargers from Walmart. |
I used my Johnson Brothers Regency White cups and saucers (garage sale!) and my grandmother's Tiffany & Co. Sterling coffee spoons. |
I used my red glass plates again, with Johnson Brothers Old British Castles salad plates, and white stoneware bowls I bought from Target years ago. They have embossed pumpkins and leaves on them. The s&p and gravy boat I am using for salad dressing are from the same collection. The two red flutes are from Pier1 years ago and sadly they only had 3 went I bought them. I also used my Romanian glass water goblets from Marshall's, bought years ago.
One of my Romanian friends searched for one like our wedding flutes and bought me the other flute in this setting. You can see it is similar, but not the same. I still love it. |

The salad bowl is from Tuesday Morning years ago and the salad serving pieces are from World Market |

Oooh, I hope that your mom's pedestal bowl finds it's way to your table more often. That is a marvelous piece. I love that the shape of the bowl and the hurricane is picked up again in your soup bowl. Great design choice. Your seeing flute is gorgeous, and it plays well with the one that your friend found for you. Thank you for sharing your warm, gracious tablescape. Cherry Kay

Your candlelit table is beautiful, Meredith...warm and inviting.
I know how your little ones feel...I have an early season cold that seems to be hanging on...hope they get to feeling better soon.
Such a beautiful table. I am loving all the beautiful fall colors. It is still so hot here I am having trouble thinking of fall. Love the centerpiece with your mom's pedestal. The red on the table is expecially pretty as is the tablecloth.
Ginger
Meredith, the centerpiece is wonderful. Such a pretty table to welcome Fall.
I hope the boys recover soon, and that you don't get sick. Mom's aren't permitted sick days! :)
Your tablescape for fall is gorgeous! I love the colors and your mom's pedestal bowl is just way great and should be making more exits on your tables! I love the way the soupbowl blends with the hurricane too! Thank you for sharing such loveliness! Hugs,
FABBY
Your table is so amazing! I could never create such a beautiful setting - you've really got the touch!
What an amazing tablescape. I love the red transfer ware.
Your table is a wonderful toast to fall! I love your red transferware!! Gorgeous! Thanks for visiting Take Six.
Following your blog!
What a lovely, warm and charming Fall table. Loved the touches of red mixed in, and your centerpc. is simply beautiful, as is the whole table. I like to use dish towels as napkins at times too. Those champagne flutes are really pretty.
Nice they were able to get you one
similiar at least.
Happy Fall!
Blessings, Nellie
Meredith, Love your Fall tablescape and I never thought to use red/pink transferware with brown, white and red. What a great look!! I'm copying! :)
Oh, love your centerpiece with the red hurricane too.
I'm so sorry to hear your boys are sick, Meredith. I hope that by now (Friday morning....I am SO slow getting through everyone's post!) that they are feeling much better. It is awful to have sick children. But it is TORTURE to have a sick MAN around the house! :-) I hope you're able to find your tablecloth soon. I know how frustrating that can be when you can't find something you just KNOW was there last season! Meanwhile, the one you used fits the entire tablescape perfectly! Have a great weekend!!!
Hi Meredith, Thank you for sharing your pretty tablescape at the Open House party. Everything is beautiful and I especially love the centerpiece.
Hugs,
Sherry
